Super Buildings - Future Plans For habits wall
Plans For habits new wall, Considering 40 Towny Blocks,
If we know 1 towny Block is 16 x 16, and want to achive a circular shape we must integrate a function to achive a circular array, the Area of a Square is given by L x L or simply L 2
The formula For The LINE of a Circle is given by the equation: X2 x Y2.
By using these 2 equation we can determine the points where the center of the Towny Blocks may be placed to achive a Circular array.
If calculated Correctly we get :
But theres a Problem, Because The nature Of the game is rectangular, the Blocks must follow a rectangular Shape, and to get rid of the Gap we Must Optimize the Area Of the Towny Blocks to The Radius of the Circle To eliminate the GAP Between The Towny Block, This can be done using a) Calculus b) Trial and Error,
Working the Math Out i obtained :
As you can see because the Game Follows Square Patterns it is expected for the Towny Blocks to overlap to achive a Perfect Circular shape.
(note The Blocks are Locked at 1 unit increments, in your math equation you must make your numbers to integers to achieve this result)
Now We add a Grid so we can see where the wall may be built.
Note: since Each towny Block is 16 x 16, the diameter of the Whole Towny Block Array is 208 Blocks, and the Radius is 104 blocks,
Now We Insert the circle where we want our wall, and another circle to insert the inside wall, and now we have a shape of the wall
Lastly We trim the area so it only shows the wall blocks
and we get :
And finally the End Result is a useful Template to Acurately Build a Circular wall 3 thick,
Not just an acurate wall but a well planned and area optimized wall which takes into account the towny block areas as well as optimized building area:

Gotta hit the skybox, or at least six blocks from it, plus the addition of some sort of fence inlaid trench on the inside of the walls to catch raiders and hold them there until someone can deal with them. Not to mention the separation of the mine from the rest of the kingdom. A mine under the kingdom could work just fine- it would just need secured. Iron door gates along the perimeter of the wall would be enough.

yea pretty much the only way to enter the castle is the Cities Gate, and the gates will be only able to be opened from the inside of the walls, as well some1 will always be on guard at the gates.

1.0 used halfies. I would not be surprised to see those return.
They cost twice as much as cobble though, so I'm not sure if I would use it. Maybe a halfie coating with hollow / cobble core?

Maybe a mixture of cobble and half stone? Maybe with smooth stone in the mix as well. It also doesn't have to be a solid wall, it can have giant circular windows and decorations like arches and pillars too. Sort of like the wall Clinthor built at spawn town.
Also, I would suggest making the wall PvP friendly. Making a giant fortress is cool, but making it totally unassailable makes for a boring game.

well it will be made of halfies unless their will be a cheap receip for mossys due to craftbook soon.
and it will be pretty pvp unfriendly, since wed like to make public events like the "olympic games" or whatever in the public area and dont want make it to easy for guys from other factions to raid us, since they already passed one wall when we let them in for observerving/taking part in the events.
for pvp there will be wars anyways. im really looking forward to have lots of wars in future ^__^

yea as people try to get into the wall the hole attemps will be filled with smooth stone over time, if ppl attack the wall ennough it will look more aged giving it a more war like texture between the half steps/ smooth stone the wall will have grand decors as the half stone is laid out.

That's an interesting idea Diabloz. So if say the Pirates were to raid you and they used TnT to blow a small hole in the wall, you'd patch it up with a different material to give it a "battle scarred" look right? That sounds sweet.

yeah and after 2 days when all the wall is out of "the other material" we can start over with halfsteps again :DD

It would be more for things such as wars where you can just break through the wall and such.
