Creating Mods?

It's always been of interest to me.

How would you learn to create mods for Minecraft? I'm guessing there'd be quite a lot that goes into the factor of creation, just for simple effects.

well u would need to know how to hack minecraft, because all minecraft mods are generally hacks, or based on a hack for minecraft, since there isnt any mod support for minecraft, you would manually need to edit minecraft codes, this is done by the developers, and they are experienced coders, or are involved with coding ingeneral, when i say codeing i mean not just java, but the language of codeing in general.

"no, dont start rumors or make uneducated assumptions." It is illegal to modify the code of Minecraft and distribute it anywhere. So what modders do is they make addons on top of the Minecraft code.

You are editing the actual files in the .Jar

Notch is Okay with this, so long as you do not distribute the entire package, as a small hint to not pirate. He then goes to say that he cares little for piracy, as most of the pirates would not have bought the game anyways.

I'm starting to think Notch doesn't care as much considering millions of people have bought the game, and those same people may re-buy the game when it's fully released. xD
