Of light and shadow: the Great pumpkin
Long ago, back in the early days of creation there was no light or dark. In fact the world looked pretty much the same all the time, the lack of a light or dark meant that wood age man could not see the wood from the leaves nor from the stone or dirt for that matter. No one could see the vast beauty of the lands as Markus intended.
Unhappy at this Markus created the First light, he was to be known as Phen The Great pumpkin. It was his Task to provide the people of this world with a brilliant light with which people could see the difference between wood and dirt, with this light man could finally see the beauty of the world as the creator had always intended.
However Phen could not light the vast world all at once, Thus he left a great Darkness wherever he could not shine, This Darkness became a home for all the dark feelings of man and from it monstrous creatures would emerge. Because they could not survive in Phen's holy light, phen decided to survive the world so that he may destroy all the creatures of darkness
While this worked for a while, the creatures soon began using the dark times to wreak havoc upon the people. They caused many nights of pain and destruction. As time went on the creatures began to retreat to Darker places. places far underground that were cast in permanent darkness. The humans were powerless, They could not see in the dark hours. Nor could they mine underground anymore For those places were now full of those horrific beasts. It was not until the humans were nearly wiped out that phen had a solution.
His plan was twofold. he would both bring light to the humans. and bring light to the dark hours. It was a terrific sight to behold. As a Great Explosion lit up the whole world at once. small shards of Phen's being Rained down upon the lands some landed on the ground And Grew into a fruit bearing Resemblance to the Great Pumpkin himself. we named this fruit the pumpkin after Phen's Greatness. Some more powerful shards struck into stone and Became dormant, loosing there glow until humans Learnt to re awaken them with fire. The Strongest shards
Struck deepest and never lost there glow. They Broke into crimson dust in the hands of man and gave us the Gift of Energy.
Perhaps his greatest gift to us however was in the aftermath of the explosion. For now there were two beings in the sky instead of one Phen, and his Daughter Lum. She would bring Light to the night sky, and Though she did not shine with the holy power of Her father. she brought light to the Dark hours enough so that mankind could fight and flourish Against the creatures of darkness

That story was pretty nice, I am impressed at your ability to create a whole different story to minecraft lore.
