Black Screen? Empty Black Screen?

i changed my jar file back to 1.4. Then it asks me if i want to update and i say no it loads then the screen turns black and stays that way any suggestions.

No idea, tho I've seen many people with this issue.

I think more then the regular Minecraft.jar could've been changed, unless your using some form of different texture pack?

Tried deleting Meta-Inf?
