Re: Texture Packs
Here, have my extensively modified XenoContendi pack. It's not too different from the normal texture, and the chests, furnaces, and items are from the Quandary pack.
Modifications:
I've darkened all the textures, made foliage biome compliant.
Turned cacti into cacti-watermelon hybrids, excellent for RP.
Made wheat in general better. Golden fields of wheat
Made lapis lazuli and dispensers sexy
Ice is now slightly transparent, compared to full transparency.
Iron door looks secure.
What I made:
All minerals were made by me.
All cloth colors were made by me.
Portal cake.
What I haven't done:
Modify Sandstone
Modify Birch
Modify Nether blocks
Modify the Quandary Items

Re: Texture Packs
Making my own pack:
Focusing on make most things a single color with a few highlights.
I've edited ores, sand, dirt and stone.
I realized 3 days after Soto warned all the x-ray users that I was missing a line of pixels on my dispenser ><
Quickly fixed it and sent an apology.

Re: Texture Packs
I use a slightly modified Doku / Gerudoku / Jadoku / some other guy pack that I edited.
I find it hard to find good textures because the majority of the packs that are supposedly good, look incredibly messy. =/
Tho I wouldn't mind something similar to the Doku's, the near old school cartoon rpg textures.

Re: Texture Packs
I use Misas' Realistic Textures. The pack is just amazing, gives everything a non pixel look. Or I'll use Last Days, which is a nice Fallout type pack.

Re: Texture Packs
I'm using ShortStuf7's Clean Design pack. It looks simplistic, yet elegant.

Re: Texture Packs
I use the default texture pack, sue me.
Unless someone can point me to a nondefault, regularly updated (darned Notch updating, adding one block every update.) texture pack that looks good.

Ah thats the one, I used flowers and a few other things from Kigerdoku and put them altogether. So it's an updated Doku. pack of some form. hahahaha.

Joli pack looks alright, tho Im not sure if it is the screenshots/quality of the pics that seem to look a bit o.O
Painterly is also very messy, but Yogscast use it so it cant be that bad.
Re: Texture Packs
The only thing I don't like about the Doku and variation packs is the Dirt. I don't know, it just doesnt suit me :O

I figured out that when you leave something blank it doesn't make it white .
I did a mining friendly texture pack with things like the diamond shape being diamonds, square was iron, etc... Easy to see in lower levels of light reduced the number of torches needed. I didn't realize when you left something blank it automatically turns transparent. I thought you had to do a mod or use block 26 to do that (glass if you didn't know).

Re: Texture Packs
Try light light light light light light light light light light...
...
...light light light light gray.
And I would be all for blocks having different shapes, but that would let xray be easier and minecraft looks better cubey.
