Foundation of Imagination - A Garry's Mod Server

During this down time since there is not a whole lot we can do beside wait for updates. I decided to start up my ol' gmod server again for a bit to help some of us through.

You can find it on the browser under the name "Foundation of Imagination" in steam.

If you do not own Garry's Mod I would highly recommend it. If you like MineCraft you will enjoy this game too. It is only $10 to buy on steam and can be as addictive as MineCraft. If you are a fan of physics and computer science you will enjoy this as well or if you simply like to build things this is a good game. I would simply put it as hardcore Lego's for adults.

Never played gMod I've heard it's good but never really took the time to look into it.

Isn't it a mod for Half Life/Counter-Strike?

Steam account got frozen over some credit card BS. Made a new account, Still need to re-buy the Orange Box n Gmod.

Spacebuild was also a fun mod to use with Gcombat as well, but making your craft actually pilotable was hellish. Didn't stop me from converting some random cruise ship into a battleship, though

Can we have a server for a different game? Not everyone has gmod.

What addons do you use on your server Soto? I want to download them now so I dont have to direct download them from your server, or get kicked because I dont have the right addon. Links would be nice.

I believe you need Team Fortress 2, Counter-strike source, half life 2, and Day of defeat: source to play it, plus the game itself.

Is it only $10 or do you need all the other games as well? Is there combat like pvp? I have never played garry's mod but I would love to learn it.

Hippie: I have all those games, I was just wondering what third party addons his server uses.

ryuukazu: I dont believe you need any other game with garrysmod, but the other source games content (such as ragdolls and props) are used in garrysmod. So if you dont have them, you cant use the objects in those games in garrysmod. Games that you own that will add content are Counter-Strike Source, Half-life Source, Half-life 2, Team Fortress 2, Zeno Clash, and Day of Defeat Source.

Can we make it a flood server? Those are fun.

The OrangeBox comes with everything you need including Garry's Mod.

Orange box doesn't come with Garry's mod.

I thought gmod came with the orangebox, but I guess I am wrong.

Gmod + orange box means your set for life videogame wise.
