Minecraft has a "release date"

Gameinformer posted that minecraft finally has a release date. The quotations are for the fact that the release date is something of a title with no meaning... as notch will continue updating it.

This is all it means: It won't be Beta anymore

One also REALLY COOL thing: IDK if it's really true, but Notch said he would be adding weather effects sometime around next week... not sure about that. (This is all from his blog)

So yeah! BTW I found 2 new wolves :3 So happy.

In the time between now and release I want more bug fixes such as:
Better wolf pathfinding
Water walking speed (not a bug, but we all hate it)
Nether in SMP
Minecarts in SMP
Boats in SMP
Arrows in SMP
Southwest rule for fire and lava (if possible)
Squids not swimming upwards

What we want:
Modding API
Umm.... too lazy to fill this out.

I think by official release, those bugs should be fixed. They have a plan of what they're wanting to do to say Minecraft is complete. Bug fixes is a constant happening, every update there are bug fixes, and usually bugs that come with those fixes. Minecraft should be at least 90% Bug free before release - as most games. There may be a few patches here and there.

So far on his twitter he's said rain snow thunder and there's lots of side effects only thing I dislike is that its content...fix the damn bugs and add mod support... Grr

He'll fix the bugs as the game progresses - mod support should be around soon. Probably after Stats and Achievements. Than again like Bethesda, if he finishes and releases the game with mod support, he may very well use the same support to add new 'dlc's' and crap.

Lol, Skyrim and Minecraft.

We all know he's finishing it around than because like the most of us, he's going to loose his life away in Skyrim for a few years. xD

Not to mention pistons in 1.6... after playing with them in SSP, I'm real excited for the possibilities with those in SMP, especially if they implement 'sticky pistons' as discussed in the mod's thread on mcforums.

Skyrim is the newest installment to the Elder Scrolls series. Previous games include: Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. If you like RPG's and you've never played them, get them now! They're probably the best games you'll ever get a hold of.

Lets say, if you like running around in massive medieval fantasy worlds, with the freedom of killing whatever the hell you want or doing whatever the hell you want, you'll love this game.

Just look up some videos of oblivion on youtube... Maybe the gameplay trailer of Skyrim too. Gameinformer.com has some great coverage too!

Oblivion was one of the best games I ever played . . I can't wait for Skyrim.
