An "Event" Idea

I'm sure that many of you have seen the Yogscast Minecraft videos. Personally, I think that if we can pull together a few people willing to act, we will be able to form a story and have the ingame players figure it out. This is mainly just a placeholder, I'll have more ideas in a few.

[Note 3: preferably, the town will be small, as in 30 by 30 or 40 by 40]
[Note 4: NPCs that are killed at one point may have a different role, or just reappear to fight again]
A path from spawn-town leads to a city that seemingly appeared in a mere day.
Players interested congregate in the city square.
Mayor (FYI: All "NPCs" will be preselected by admins) exits the Town Hall to greet new visitors, but the ceremony is interrupted by a gang of bandits (also preselected) who take the mayor hostage. They escape. (Note: Players MUST NOT INTERFERE, as the bandits must stay alive)
A piece of paper dropped by one of the bandits is "discovered" by a moderator, who then tells the players the location (in coordinates) of the Bandit's lair. A poll on the forum will select the three heroes to rescue the mayor.
The heroes travel to the location, and enter. They are ambushed by zombies, skeletons, spiders, and creepers! After wiping out the foes and disabling the spawners, they head deeper into the bandit's lair. They can also raid the bandit's chests (containing just a few valuables 2-3 diamonds, 7 iron, 5 gold, or something like that).
At this point, the heroes can request two extra members for their expedition, who also bring supplies from above.
They head even deeper, discovering a prison. The cells contain nothing, but there are several blood (redstone) stains on the floor.
After exiting the prison, they run into 3 bandits, each clad in leather. Two wield stone swords, one using iron. They kill them, gathering the spoils.
A sign down a hallway points to the vault. At this point, the players can hear the mayor's screams.
Upon entering the vault, they must solve a puzzle using flint and steel to burn wool (so didn't steal it from Gourd Avengers
). After burning away the wool, they have full access to the bandit's armory and treasure stashes.
Another bandit strike force appears, containing 4 members, all wearing chainmail, 2 using stone swords, one iron, and one with a bow.
They enter the final hallway, and are forced to kill the bandit lord (Personally, I think Habit would enjoy this role
), who is wearing all iron, and wielding a diamond sword. He is accompanied by 2 guards who are only wearing leather, but wield iron swords.
Upon successfully defeating the bandit-lord and his minions, the heroes steal the lord's throne of gold and diamond (enough to be split fairly). They return to the surface and return the mayor to the town. As a kind gesture, the heroes give the mayor the treasures to repair the town, but instead he gives the heroes a large share, and all players an even smaller one.

A mysterious castle appears in the middle of a large ocean with no bridges attached to it. The wizards "investigate", and discover that the castle is infested with zombies.
The wizards issue passes (which can be obtained by applying on the forums) to teams of 3 warriors. The team can then enter the castle. (Note: NO TORCHES MAY BE PLACED IN THE CASTLE)
I may draw a schematic later, but for now the castle's layout will remain a mystery!
Possible loot:
Gold
Diamonds
Diamond tools
Diamond armor
Iron
Chainmail
Coins (if possible)
Lapis lazuli
The castle will be restocked after each "raid".
This event will last between a week or 5 days.

When I get onto the server, I'd be willing to try and help out! I may have a few friends who would willing, but they know not of the Kingdoms, yet. But, yeah, I've seen the Yogscast's videos and I think it'd be a good idea.

I already have a basic storyline... I'll fill the OP later.

Anyway, yogscast is amazing and this seems like it would be great fun for all who participate. I'm liking the first idea.

And yeah, the second idea is a little half-baked, but it involves less player NPCs, therefore, more people get to partake.
