Question about TNT

Post  UberCookieboy on 2011-02-06, 4:08 pm

What's the view on using TNT to break into something?

"break" what? TNT / creepers won't destroy blocks above Y=50 or something. It's useless for raiding, if that's what you're getting at.

Well that's just say I was motivated to raid the Brotherhood of Magmas territory, would I be able to use TNT to lets say, break down a vault door, or a wall?

I tested something out the other day. You can make a tnt cannon at whatever was considered under ground (I just found a spot where a creeper blew up) and shoot a tnt up out of it in order to hit something above ground. Yes, it is more of a hassle, but it gives you the option.

Though I really think Soto should make a clear cut rule if Tnt use for raiding is allowed.

think that would be griefing, wat would u do build an under ground cannon to raid the brotherhood of magma, that minds there own business? just dont bother, the only use for tnt would be for clever traps, where the tnt would fall on a person to kill them. since Tnt does damage but dosnt destroy blocks above sea level.

Why would you raid us? We don't have anything worth taking at the moment.

Also good luck breaking in when the bulk of the base is near bedrock. Very Happy At any rate, I welcome the challenge.

Well, how else is he going to get in besides making a huge hole? That's not exactly tactical.

Tactical insertion underground via large quantities of explosives? Extremely viable.

So is it a legal move?

Someone should pay a visit to Habit's base and his mob spawner(s).

Hahaha reminds me of the days in MMORPG V.2

I found a fantastic skeleton/arrow spawner setup.
I accidentally broke it... and ran =S

You needn't worry, Brotherhood of Magma, I rarely have an interest in raiding, but you won't be the only underground civilization, and not all underground civilizations will be friendly Very Happy

This is just mostly to inquire about the use of TNT as a raiding tool

Just because we're not hostile doesn't mean we're friendly. farao

If tnt was allowed for raiding, i think it should be much less effective than normal, for example it will only destroy blocks right next to it, so if you wanted to carve a doorway into someones kingdom, you could set the tnt adjacent to the wall, and it would blow up the 2 blocks in front of it that would allow access.

I would like to say there is a difference between breaking inside of a kingdom and griefing a structure that takes literally days to build.

Aside from dirt, that's how powerful it is now.
